Type of labels

So you are all set to order your new woven labels forĀ  your garmentsĀ  and have decided on the logo and text which you need to add on your woven label or printed label . However before asking for the mockup of your woven/printed labels one more information which you have to provide the designer is what type of finishing you want in your woven/printed labels.

Below is the image which essentially describes what type of folds are available for you to choose from.

The most basic one is in roll form. It is the cheapest option available and comes in default mode. It will have sewing allowance of 4-6 mm on each side and you will get a labels rolled together so you will have to cut the label before sewing it and fold it manually around the sewing allowance and then sew it.

Other options are as follows : –

  1. Cut Seal : – This as the name indicates will be cut around the edges and you will have to sew the labels from all the four sides . If you want to sew your woven labels from two sides then maybe this is not an ideal finish for you .
  2. Cut Fold :- This label will come with folded edges and all you have to do is simply place it on the garment where you want to sew and sew it. Very easy to handle and looks pretty neat .
  3. Center Fold :- This option is ideal for labels which have got branding on the top part of labels and some sort of care/washing instruction on the bottom part of the label. So the label is folded from between and only the top part is visible and when you flip the label you will see the care/washing instruction written on the label .
  4. Miter Fold :- This label is folded diagonally and is ideal and most used in kurtis. It is also called hang fold as it is often used to hang the cloth.
  5. Manhatten Fold :- This is ideal for hem labels, the small label which you must have seen on the sleeves of the tshirt.

Hopefully this article will help you decide on the type of label which you need. Have a great time selecting best labels for your garments.
